2020 Labor Day Parade canceled
Since the City of New York has canceled all large scale events in September due to the coronavirus pandemic, the New York City Central Labor Council has also canceled this year’s Labor Day Parade.
Unions currently are discussing alternative types of events that can safely acknowledge the contributions of workers throughout this pandemic and allow advocacy for issues and policies that benefit workers.
“While we do not want the contributions of the labor movement to go unnoticed on Labor Day, we want to make sure that the safety of our members and all workers throughout the city remains the top priority,” said DC 37 Executive Director Henry Garrido.
