DC 37 marches at PR Parade
DC 37 Latino Heritage Committee chair and Local 1549 Recording Secretary Carmen Flores lead a contingent of flag-waving union members down Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue at the annual National Puerto Rican Day Parade, which celebrated its 60th anniversary. The parade route began at 44th Street and ended at 79th Street on Sunday June 11. The popular salsa singer Gilberto Santa Rosa was the grand marshal.
The theme for this year’s parade was “Un Pueblo, Muchas Voces,” (One People, Many Voices).
