Local 372’s scholarships awarded at dinner

Board of Education Employees Local 372 awarded more than $18,000 in scholarships to six deserving college students at this year’s annual scholarship dinner and fundraiser on June 7 at Anton’s Catering Hall in Queens Village.

We get to pay it forward by giving back to our members’ children through this important scholarship program.” Local 372 awarded Chelsea Arney a $3,500 scholarship and five other students a $3,000 award each toward their college education.

The local also honored labor leaders Jim Tucciarelli, retired president of Sewage Treatment Workers and Supervisors Local 1322 and a DC 37 executive vice president; Faye Willie Fields, president of Local 447, CSEA; and Charles Jenkins, vice chair of MOW-TWU Local 100 and president of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, CBTU, New York chapter.
