Legal staff meets with members
DC 37 members had the opportunity to meet the union’s Municipal Employees Legal Services staff and get free legal assistance. During the month of June the MELS staff hit the road and held meetings with members in downtown Jamaica, Crown Heights, Harlem and Staten Island. After their presentation, where the staff talked about the many services they offer, members had an opportunity to sit down with a MELS attorney for a brief consultation.
“This is great to have MELS come out to Queens,” said Local 384 member Tawanna Haynes. “I have a bunch of questions for them.”
